Intense Rain Clouds Forming Near Chennai Again; Fresh Spells Expected in KTCC
After a brief break, intense rain clouds are once again developing near Chennai, with fresh spells expected to begin shortly in the KTCC (Kancheepuram–Tiruvallur–Chennai–Chengalpattu) region.
According to data recorded in the last three hours after 8:30 AM, areas from Ennore to Ponneri have received significant rainfall. Localities such as Ennore, Manali, Kadapakkam, Puzhal, and Kathivakkam continue to record strong showers, as every intense storm cell has perfectly moved into the North Chennai belt.
Ennore has already recorded 70 mm today, and if it receives another 30 mm, the total rainfall from the Ditwah system alone will reach 600 mm, a remarkable figure.
Although KTCC is currently experiencing a short break, meteorologists confirm that new rain clouds are forming, and another spell is likely shortly.
Rains Spread to Other Parts of Tamil Nadu
Meanwhile, long-awaited rains have finally begun in the dry belt of Karur, marking what is expected to be an excellent day for the interior districts of Tamil Nadu. Heavy rainfall is likely in many areas.
Even Bengaluru, which rarely receives rain during December, is expected to see showers in parts of the city today.
Hill stations including Kodaikanal and Coonoor are also forecast to receive heavy rainfall, while the Kongu region is set for widespread showers throughout the day.
