Cyclone Ditwah, positioned around 380 km south of Chennai over the Bay of Bengal, is expected to bring widespread heavy rainfall across Tamil Nadu over the next 48 hours. As the system slowly moves toward the coast, the IMD has issued Red, Orange, and Yellow alerts for multiple districts on November 29 and 30.
Red Alert for November 29 – Extremely Heavy Rain Likely
Five districts are expected to experience very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall:

- Villupuram
- Cuddalore
- Mayiladuthurai
- Nagapattinam
Authorities have warned of potential waterlogging, localized flooding, and strong winds in these regions.
