To support the large number of devotees traveling from Tamil Nadu to the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple in Kerala, the Indian Railways has announced several special trains during the pilgrimage season. These trains aim to reduce crowding, ensure smoother travel, and provide better connectivity for pilgrims.
List of Special Trains Operating Between Chennai and Kollam
The following special trains will operate between Chennai Egmore/Chennai Central and Kollam:
Chennai Egmore – Kollam: 06111
Kollam – Chennai Egmore: 06112
Chennai Central – Kollam: 06113, 06119, 06127, 06117
Kollam – Chennai Central: 06114, 06120, 06128, 06118
These trains are expected to run frequently from early morning to late night to accommodate the heavy rush during the Mandala–Makara Vilakku pilgrimage period.

According to railway officials, most of these special trains will pass through major Tamil Nadu and Kerala regions, including:
Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, and Palakkad,
This ensures easier access for devotees boarding from multiple districts.
