The peak rainfall window for Chennai is expected from tonight through Tuesday morning, bringing moderate to heavy showers, though nothing alarming.
Chakkaram Weather System
Weather blogger Tamil Nadu Weatherman confirmed that the “Chakkaram” system still persists. However, moderate rainfall is expected in Chennai before any major development. More clarity on the system is expected in the coming days.
Interior Tamil Nadu
Interior districts will receive isolated showers today and tomorrow. A stronger spell of rain is forecast the day after tomorrow, with several areas likely to benefit from widespread showers.
South Tamil Nadu
The low-pressure area over the Comorin Sea is currently impacting weather in Ramanathapuram and Kanyakumari. These districts, along with Thoothukudi and Tirunelveli, are likely to witness good rainfall over the next two days due to their favourable position near the low-pressure zone.
