Gold prices, which had already surged sharply in the morning, have now increased further by ₹100 per gram this evening, stunning jewellery buyers across the state.
With this fresh rise, the price of 22-carat gold now stands at ₹11,900 per gram and ₹95,200 per sovereign. This marks a total increase of ₹300 per gram within a single day, reflecting the ongoing volatility in the precious metal market.
Silver prices have also moved up slightly, increasing by ₹1 per gram. The metal now sells at ₹183 per gram, while the price per kilogram has reached ₹1,83,000.
Experts attribute this steady upward trend to global market uncertainty, fluctuations in the U.S. dollar, and increased investor demand for safe-haven assets like gold and silver.
Jewellery traders expect further fluctuations in the coming days as international market conditions continue to remain unstable.
