Hike in gold import tariff value

The government has made a hike the gold’s import tariff value of to $442 per ten gram. This tariff is in line with the gold value across the globe. This was previously $418 per ten grams of gold.
The central board of excise and customs made an announcement regarding this hike in rate. However, it is to be noted that the tariff value for silver import remains the same as $699 per kg. In addition, the value of other metals like brass, poppy seeds, etc remains the same.
