Temporary Bus Terminus Announced for Vallalar Nagar (Mint) Due to Redevelopment Work
The Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) has announced temporary operational changes at the Vallalar Nagar (Mint) bus terminus in view of the redevelopment and reconstruction works scheduled to commence shortly. According to an official release, several bus routes will operate from an alternative location starting November 8, 2025.
As part of this arrangement, buses on the following routes will be diverted to a temporary bus terminus set up opposite the Greater Chennai Corporation Zone–V office:
57, 57X, 57A, 48B, 48BX, 48C, 48K, 48P, 547A, 592V, 48ACT, 56A and 36M.
The MTC also announced that the monthly pass issuing counter will function from the temporary facility throughout the construction period.
Meanwhile, bus services on routes 37, 37G, 59 and 37CT will continue to operate from the existing Vallalar Nagar (Mint) terminus without any changes.
Passengers are requested to take note of these route modifications and use the temporary terminus until further notification, the release added.
