Following heavy rain since early Today morning, the Tirupattur District Collector K. Sivasoundaravalli has declared a holiday for all schools in the district as a precautionary measure.
The Chennai Meteorological Centre reported that an upper air cyclonic circulation over Tamil Nadu is likely to bring moderate rain with thunder and lightning in parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal till November 11.
Meanwhile, confusion arose as some private schools reportedly asked students to attend classes despite the official holiday announcement.
The collector clarified that only schools will remain closed, while colleges will function as usual.
