School Management Meeting in all TN govt schools soon!!
The principal education officers have been directed by the school education department to hold SMC or school management meetings on 7th of November in all government schools across TN.
In the circular sent by M. Arthi who is the TN state project director of the Integrated School Education dept it was mentioned that school management meetings must be held on 7th November from 3pm to 430 pm in all government schools across Tamil Nadu. It added that in the meeting the learning ability of the students must be discussed which would be based on the quarterly examination marks. Discussion must also be carried out on the achievement scorecards issued for the first time to the students from the classes 1 to 5.
The circular also revealed about the students who have dropped out of the schools plus students who could drop out from the classes 9 to 12. A committee must be formed consisting of former students, SHG members, SMC group leaders headed by home based educators in the school management committee. It was said that appropriate action must be taken once a month with the help of medical health dept and mental health counselors to help those kids who are addicted to mobile phones and drugs etc and not interested in studying. Finally, the release mentioned that the headmasters must ensure that `Illam Thedi Kalvi` continues to function and students attend and learn.
