Chembarambakkam Lake Water Release Increased to 750 Cusecs Amid Rising Levels

The Chennai authorities have increased the water discharge from Chembarambakkam Lake from 500 cusecs to 750 cusecs as a precautionary step. This comes as the lake’s water level approaches 22 feet, nearing its critical limit.
Currently, the lake’s water level is at 20.84 feet, with an inflow of approximately 2220 cusecs. To manage the rising inflow and prevent flooding in nearby areas, officials are releasing more water downstream.
