M. Vairamuthu of Hatsun Academy Clinches Double Gold at 49th Senior National Tennikoit Championship
In a remarkable achievement, M. Vairamuthu, captain of the Tamil Nadu team, secured gold medals in both the team championship and singles category at the 49th Senior National Tennikoit Championship held in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, from October 8 to 12, 2025. With this victory, the Tamil Nadu contingent also emerged as the overall champions of the tournament.
A seasoned player, Vairamuthu earlier won the bronze medal at the 5th World Tennikoit Championship held in Pretoria, South Africa. Continuing his stellar performance, he has now clinched the Senior Singles Gold Medal for the fourth time while training under the Hatsun Tennikoit Academy. Recognizing his consistent excellence, the Tamil Nadu Government has awarded him a ₹10 lakh sports scholarship.
