Chennai One App Gains 2 Lakh Downloads in Just 15 Days!
The ‘Chennai One’ mobile application — a unified ticketing platform for MTC buses, metro trains, and suburban electric trains — has achieved remarkable success, recording over 2 lakh downloads within just 15 days of its launch.
For the first time in India, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the *‘Chennai One’* app, designed to connect all modes of public transport under a single digital platform. Available on both iOS and Android, the app integrates MTC buses, metro trains, suburban trains, taxis, and autos through a single QR-based ticketing system.
With this app, commuters can track real-time movements of buses, metro, and suburban trains, as well as purchase tickets seamlessly through UPI or payment cards. The app ensures a single travel record, making multi-modal commuting across Chennai more convenient than ever.
Developed to support multiple languages including English, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, ‘Chennai One’ represents a major step forward in public transport innovation. It eliminates the need for commuters to wait in queues, offering an easy and digital way to pay fares and get tickets.
Launched on September 22, the app has seen tremendous public response. Officials reported that 2,000 to 3,000 commuters are purchasing tickets daily, and in just 15 days, over 1 lakh users have already used the app to buy tickets.
