Chennais Arvind Srinivas enters Hurun Rich List 2025 with ₹21,190 crore fortune!
The Hurun India Rich List 2025, released yesterday, has reaffirmed Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani’s position at the top, with a net worth of ₹9.55 lakh crore. Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, who held the top spot last year, has moved to second place this year with a net worth of ₹8.15 lakh crore.
A notable new entrant to the list is Chennai-born technology entrepreneur Arvind Srinivas, the founder and CEO of Perplexity AI. He has secured a place on the list with a net worth of ₹21,190 crore.
Arvind Srinivas pursued his undergraduate studies in Computer Science at IIT Madras, followed by a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley, USA. His professional career includes stints at globally renowned organizations such as OpenAI, DeepMind, and Google.
In 2018, he joined OpenAI as a research intern, later interning at DeepMind and Google, before rejoining OpenAI as a Scientist in 2021. With a vision to revolutionize Artificial Intelligence, he went on to establish Perplexity AI in 2022, which has now grown into one of the world’s leading AI-based search companies.
Thanks to this remarkable success, Arvind Srinivas has emerged as one of India’s youngest billionaires, making Tamil Nadu proud on the global stage.
According to the Hurun India Rich List 2025, India is now home to 358 billionaires, with Arvind Srinivas standing out as a symbol of the state’s contribution to the world of technology and innovation.
