Digital platform for all medical records in Chennai from now on!!
Handwritten autopsy and injury reports would soon become a thing of the past in Government hospitals and medical colleges etc!!!
From Friday onwards, digital platforms developed by National informatics Centre, MedLEaPR or medical legal examination and post-mortem reporting would be used by all TN govt medical colleges and hospitals etc.
For the sake of accountability and for standardising documents etc, the digital system would be implemented on a pilot basis.
It was directed to all deans by Dr.Sugathy Rajakumari, DME that MedLEaPR module would be implemented as a standalone system on pilot basis and it would be linked with CCTNS or crime and criminal tracking network systems after it gets readied.
It is learnt that these reports also include medico-legal reports for injury, age, estimation,, sexual assault cases and post-mortem reports etc including those for foetuses as per Pre Conception and Pre Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act.
