Largest & Oldest Sports Event in technical institutions - Inter IIT Aquatics Games 2025 in IIT-Madras!!
In the year 1961, inter IIT or Indian Institute of Technology sports games was first started and since then it has been going on.
It must be noted that IIT-Madras has joined hands with IIT-Hyderabad and IIT-Tirupati and would hold the 58th inter IIT games. Till 5th of October, IIT-M would be hosting the games in its vast campus in Chennai.
It is worthy to note that this is the largest and oldest sports event that is held in technical institutions with the support from the union government.
Olympic swimmer and Arjun Awardee Sebastian Xavier made his presence felt at IIT-Madras yesterday as the chief guest.
Various important persons who attended this event were Mr. Kamakoti, IIT-M Director, Mr. N. Sathyanarayana Dean, faculty members, sports officials. Many students studying in the IITs took part in the event.
