Last Day to Pay Property Tax for Current Half-Year in Chennai
Today, September 30, 2025, is the final day for residents of the Chennai Municipal Corporation (CMC) to pay the property tax for the current half-year. Citizens are urged to complete payments today to avoid penalty interest for delays.
According to CMC officials, between April 1 and September 29, a total of ₹930 crore has been collected as property tax, with 75% of payments made online.
How to Pay Property Tax
Property tax can be paid through multiple convenient channels:
- Online portals and the CMC website
- Government e-service centers
- Mobile apps such as Nam Chennai
- Payment methods: Credit cards, debit cards, UPI, cash, cheque, QR code payments
- WhatsApp payment service: 94450 61913
- Payments can also be made at government offices designated by the corporation near residential areas.
Residents are advised to pay their property tax today to avoid additional interest charges under the Tamil Nadu Local Bodies Act.
