Twenty six new books on the behalf of Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation have been released by the chief minister of TN Mr. M.K. Stalin yesterday. He also inaugurated 146 library buildings worth Rs 39.33 crores on the behalf of the Public Library Directorate. This has grabbed the attention of many now.
As per the press release from the Tamil Nadu government that textbooks are being published under the schemes of TN Textbook and Educational Services Corporation, Nationality Books, Muthamizh Arignar Translation Project, Ilanthalir Literature project, Classical books and Publication of Rare Books etc.
At the Chennai secretariat yesterday, a total of 26 books were released by the CM of Tamil Nadu. At a total cost of Rs 31cr and 24lakhs, 90 libraries through Rural Development Department, 32 libraries through Directorate of Town Panchayats and 20 libraries through Municipal Admin Department etc have been constructed in all the districts in Tamil Nadu.
The chief minister of Tamil Nadu inaugurated as many as 146 library buildings constructed at a cost of Rs 39.33 cr. This included a branch library in Alampalayam covering 1484 sqm at a cost of Rs 50lakhs.
At Kallakurichi:
It is worthy to mention that the chief minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. M. K. Stalin later laid a foundation stone for the construction of a four storey building for district central library at Kallakurichi. This would be of 14369 sqft capacity. This would be constructed at a cost of Rs 4.1cr.
The event witnessed participation of Mr. Anbhl Mahesh Poyyamozhi, school education minister, Mr. Chandramohan, school education secretary plus others like Dindigul Mr. I. Leoni, Tamil Nadu Textbooks and Educational Services chairman and Public library director Jayanthi.
