Chennai’s Koyambedu wholesale market saw moderate fluctuations in vegetable prices on Monday, September 22.
According to traders:
Carrot: prices dropped by Rs 10 per kg, from Rs 60 on September 20 to Rs 50 today.
Capsicum: recorded a sharp increase of Rs 10 per kg, rising from Rs 40 to Rs 50.
Tomatoes: went up by Rs 5 per kg, from Rs 20 to Rs 25.
Other vegetable prices include:
Beans: Rs 35 per kg
Green peas: Rs 80 per kg
Cauliflower: Rs 20 per kg
Coconut: Rs 60 per kg
Bitter gourd: Rs 20 per kg
Snake gourd: Rs 25 per kg
Drumstick: Rs 60 per kg
Potatoes and green chillies: Rs 30 per kg
Lemon: Rs 50 per kg
Ginger: Rs 50 per kg
Garlic: Rs 130 per kg
Coloured capsicum: Rs 80 per kg
Leafy greens such as coriander and mint continue to be sold at the same rates as earlier this month.
