Chennai, Sept 22, 2025 (Monday): Gold prices continued their upward rally in Chennai, with rates climbing by ₹560 per sovereign today. The price of the yellow metal now stands at ₹82,880 per sovereign and ₹10,360 per gram.
On Saturday (Sept 20), gold had already risen by ₹480, touching ₹82,320 per sovereign, a day after it went up by ₹80.
Since January 1, 2025, gold prices have seen a steep rally of ₹24,720 per sovereign (43.22%), fueled mainly by global uncertainties and the ongoing trade war triggered by US President Donald Trump.
