Delightful news for the passengers regarding the Chennai airport!! No more lengthy walks to the Aerohub multilevel car parking in the airport!!
The landscaping and plaza construction works would get completed in the month of October that is one year delay after the original deadline. It is known that over a year there have been setbacks regarding the work at the airport.
The superb piece of information is that this project would make commuting easy for the passengers at the Chennai airport with a secondary cab pick-up point. By this, the passengers would be able to avoid lengthy walks on the Aerohub multi-level car parking facility.
From the first week of October, initial access for vehicles would be available. In 2023, AAI launched a development project across the domestic terminal 1 and this project was supposed to have been completed in October 2024 itself. The pedestrian walkways and seating areas for travellers were taken into consideration.
Delay in completion:
It must be taken into account that the project faced many issues from its initiation. Various issues were delayed in handling over the space, mandatory structural assessments, and canopy collapse in Delhi.
There were extended delays also due to necessary safety revisions. By this, both design finalisation as well as material procurement was affected. Now, the construction works have been going at rapid speeds at the airport as all the materials have been procured. This was mentioned by some officials at the airport.
