The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the formation of two low-pressure areas over the Bay of Bengal in the coming weeks. The first system is expected to form by September 3 over the north Bay of Bengal and may intensify near the West Bengal–North Odisha coast by September 5. A second system could emerge over the northwest Bay of Bengal around September 10.
Due to an upper air cyclonic circulation over South India, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal may receive light to moderate rainfall, with winds reaching 40–50 kmph in some regions. The Kanyakumari coast may experience cyclonic winds on August 29 and 30.
