Great news for Chennai AU students- Japan to hire about 50000 students from India for jobs!!

This was mentioned by high level delegation F26 representatives from Japan to the Indian students yesterday at a seminar.
The representatives also encouraged the engineering students from College of Engineering or CEG Guindyand Madras Institute of Technology or MIT Chromepet to apply for internship opportunities for exploring work culture, food and the country of Japan.
Talent exchange programme:
On Tuesday, 26th August 2025, a career exchange programme or seminar was organised at Anna University or AU in Chennai under the India Japan Talent Bridge programme, a flagship initiative of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry METI, government of Japan. This caught the attention of many and was spoken in high esteem.
According to founder and CEO of Talendy-By Tech Japan, Mr. Naotaka Nishiyama it was clear that Japan would be hiring about 50000 students from India in the next 5 years. The main aim would be to popularise job opportunities for Indian students in Japan. The seminar was attended by more than 3000 students from AU. He added that the Indian students did not know about the product development culture and demand for IT engineers in Japan.
Mr. K. Shanmuga Sundaram, director, Centre for University- Industry Collaboration CUIC, Anna University mentioned that the seminar created awareness. He added that more final year engineering students would sit for placement and internship drives in 2026.
For the talented students, Japan based firms would pay a salary of Rs 20lakhs per annum also. This was brought out by some professors at the seminar.
It is learnt that AU is entering into an academic partnership with Japanese universities to offer dual degrees. In the coming days, the representatives would visit IISC in Bengaluru and IIT in Gandhinagar.
