Tamil Nadu Weather Alert: Heavy Rain Likely in 8 Districts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for 8 districts in Tamil Nadu, including Chennai and Ramanathapuram, due to a low-pressure area likely to form over the northwest Bay of Bengal around August 25, 2025.
Districts Likely to Receive Heavy Rain:
Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur, Cuddalore, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram
Chennai and its suburbs are expected to see partly cloudy skies with chances of moderate rain with thunder and lightning.
Fishermen Warning: Strong winds of 40–60 kmph are expected over parts of the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea. Avoid sea travel until August 26.
