GATE EXAMINATION - Students can apply from 25th August onwards!!
What is the GATE examination?
Many undergraduate engineering degree completed students would be interested in pursuing post graduation in their fields. For these students, the GATE examination is conducted.
It must be noted that the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE is an entrance examination conducted for admissions into technical postgraduate programmes. This important examination is conducted by Indian Institute of Sciences or IISC or Indian institute of Technology or IITs. The score obtained by a student at the GATE examination is taken into consideration for the admission into the PG courses in India.
The news is that the eligible and interested students can apply for the GATE examination from 26th August 2025 onwards. The exam would be conducted in 30 different subjects including mechanical engineering, architecture etc through computer based methods.
Date, duration and total marks etc:
The GATE 2026 would be conducted on 7th 8th, 14th and 15th of February in 2026.The examination would be for a total of 100 marks and it would be conducted for 3 hours. This time IIT Guwahati would be organising the GATE exam for the eligible students. The centres for the exam would be divided into 8 zones. Online application registration would begin from 26th of August 2025 and the interested and eligible students could go to the website https://gate2025.iitr.ac.in/ the last date of receiving applications is 25th September.
Note:
It is mentioned that those students who failed to apply by the above said date could register (till 6th October) by paying late fee amount. Those students who are studying engineering final year can also apply for the GATE 2026 examination. By 19th of March, GATE exam results would be announced. The eligible and interested graduates could visit the above said website and get more details etc.
