Aadi month has gone and Avani month has been going on now (Aadi Poi Avani Vandhurukku) . The textile shops across TN are brimming with crowds now. The sale of silk sarees and dhotis has increased due to consecutive muhurthams in Avani months and it is 30% more than the normal.

It must be taken into note that in Salem district after agriculture it is textile industry which is the mainstay. In many places in Salem district, fancy sarees are woven on power looms and these sarees are made in polyester lace or jarigai, gold lace, silver lace, copper lace and floral lace etc. Moreover, other varieties like towels, Kerala sarees, dhotis, lungis etc are also made.

In the month of Aadi no marriage etc took place. Now that Aadi month has gone and Aavani month has been going on and there are 5 muhurthams in this month alone. Many have shown huge interest to get married now due to Valarpirai Muhurthangal in this Avani month.

As a result, for the past few days, in the original silk sarees and lace sarees shops in the districts like Salem, Dharmapuri, Namakkal and Krishnagiri etc, crowds have increased more than usual.

As per a silk saree trader from Salem it was clear that across TN original silk sarees and dhotis were produced in the districts like Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tirupur, Erode, Coimbatore, Karur, Virudhunagar etc. He mentioned how sarees worth several lakhs were made every day. It is learnt that these sarees are being sent to many places in TN, AP, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra etc.

In addition, the sarees are also exported to foreign nations like the USA, London, Singapore, Malaysia and Dubai etc. One muhurtham has been completed in Avani but still there are 5 more muhurthams available. The muhurthams have now increased the demand for silk sarees and Apoorva brand sees etc as more people would be getting married.

The sensational piece of information is that yesterday, 20 August, silk sarees worth crores were sold across Tamil Nadu.
