More than 1000 Special buses to be operated during weekends - Transport Corporation!!
Good news for those who want to travel during the weekends!!
As many as 1040 special buses would be operated during the weekends in TN and this was as per the stamen released by the transport corporation. It must be noted that 340 buses would be operated from Kilambakkam on 22nd of August. On 23rd August, 350 buses would be operated.
In the same way, from Koyambedu as many as 55 special buses would be operated each on 22nd and 23rd of August. From Madhavaram 20 special buses would be operated each on 22nd and 23rd August.
It was also mentioned in the statement that more passengers would travel from Chennai and other places to and from other places across TN due to weekend holidays on Friday, 22ND August, Saturday 23rd August and Sunday 24th August. Point is that TNSTC has planned to operate special buses in addition to daily buses.
Information gathered is that 340 buses would be operated from Kilambakkam in Chennai to Thiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanniyakumari, Tuticorin, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode and Tirupur on 22nd August Friday, 350 buses on 23rd August Saturday.
Fifty five buses have been scheduled to operate from Koyambedu in Chennai to places like Tiruvannamalai, Nagai, Velankanni, Hosur and Bangalore etc on 22nd August Friday and 55 buses on Saturday 23rd August to above mentioned places in TN.
It must be taken into account that 200 buses have been scheduled to operate from Bangalore, Tirupur, Erode, Coimbatore to several places. Twenty buses would be operated on 22nd August from Madhavaram and on 23rd August, 20 buses would be operated as special buses.
On Sunday, to facilitate the return of passengers from their hometowns etc to Chennai and Bangalore etc, special buses have been planned to operate from all places. In this scenario, as many as 6233 passengers have booked their tickets to travel on Friday and 2966 passengers on Saturday and 5510 passengers on Sunday.
The number of passengers who would be travelling long distances during weekends would be increasing and hence they have been requested to book their tickets in advance through www.tnstc.in website
