Vivekanand Choubey Takes Charge as CGM of SBI Chennai Circle
Vivekanand Choubey has officially assumed charge as the Chief General Manager (CGM) of the State Bank of India (SBI), Chennai Circle. This circle manages operations across 1,282 branches in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, overseeing a massive business portfolio worth ₹4.80 trillion.
A highly experienced banker, Mr. Choubey brings with him over 27 years of service in SBI, having joined as a Probationary Officer in 1998. Over the years, he has held several key leadership roles both in India and overseas. Notably, he led SBI’s Retail Banking (NRI) operations in the United Kingdom and also served as Special Secretary and Executive Secretary to the Chairman at SBI’s Corporate Centre.
According to an official release, Mr. Choubey’s appointment is expected to strengthen the bank’s strategic direction in the region.
