Commissioning of advanced cancer treatment centre at GH in Royapettah!!
An important locality in Chennai is Royapettah and this locality is making sensational news now for this very important reason.
It must be noted that an advanced cancer treatment centre of high quality is being constructed in the Government General Hospital in Royapettah for a cost of Rs 10.27 cr. The health minister Mr. M. Subramanian has instructed the officials to take steps to commission the cancer treatment centre within 3 months. The health minister later inspected the constructed work of an additional building being carried out in the same hospital at a cost of Rs 40.50 cr.
It must be recalled that in 2023 an International Marathon was held in the memory of late CM of TN Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi and it received a registration fee of Rs 3.42 cr. The TN government has contributed Rs 6.85 cr through Namakku Namae scheme. Therefore, with a total of Rs 10.27 cr, a foundation stone has been laid for constructing an advanced cancer treatment centre at the Royapettah hospital. The work has been going on.
About the building:
The building has got a total area of 62700 sq ft with GF or ground floor and 2 floors. The GF would have a 4 wheeler parking facility, radiology department. The first floor would have an in-patient department. The second floor would have a state-of-art operation theatre, pre-operative room, recovery room and intensive care or ICU. Work is also going on now regarding construction of additional medical buildings at Rs 40.50 cr.
Other important personalities who were present yesterday at the time of inspection were Dr. Ayesha Shamim, superintendent of Royapettah GH, PWD officials etc.
