Chennai Expands AC Rest Room Facilities for Delivery Workers in Velachery and KK Nagar

The Chennai Corporation is expanding its initiative to build air-conditioned rest rooms for food and product delivery personnel. After successful rollouts in Anna Nagar and Pondy Bazaar, two more rest rooms are planned in Velachery and KK Nagar.
Encouraged by this success, the corporation is now identifying suitable locations in Velachery and KK Nagar. Construction of the new rest rooms, each with a ₹25 lakh budget, is expected to begin in the coming months.
These initiatives aim to improve working conditions, promote well-being, and enhance efficiency for Chennai’s growing gig workers from Swiggy, Zomato, Amazon, and Flipkart.
