The speed of winds blowing from west to east plus due to the possibility of successive formation of air circulations along Bay of Bengal, the state of Tamil Nadu would receive rains continuously. This was confirmed by some meteorologists yesterday.
It has been raining on the north coast for the past 2days (as expected) due to the change in the speed of the westerly winds. Point is that today there might be rains in the north coast districts like Chennai, Chengalpet and Kancheepuram areas and along the borders of Andhra Pradesh. There are some chances of additional rains today. In this situation, there is a possibility of wind circulation from north east joining here. As a result of this, rainfall would intensify. The cooling would become more due to the combination of east and west winds and after 14th July till 20th July there would be heavy rains in Tamil Nadu. As the air circulations that cool the air would form successively along the Bay of Bengal there is a possibility of continuous rains. According to some meteorologists, rains would start falling gradually in the northern districts and then in the southern districts.
It was brought out by a report from the Chennai Meteorological Centre that due to the dry weather in most places in TN the temperature in Chennai, Karur, Dindigul and Madurai, Tiruvallur and Vellore districts increased to 3 to 5 degrees above normal yesterday. There was up to 3 degrees increase in the temperature yesterday in the districts of Coimbatore, Nilgris, Cuddalore, Erode, Kanniyakumari, Nagapattinam, Tirunelveli, Ramanathapuram and Thoothukudi.
Today, light to moderate rains with thunder and lightning are likely to occur in one or two places due to the change in the speeds of westerly winds. It is mentioned that strong surface winds would blow at speeds of 50kmph in one or two places. Till 15th of July, this would continue. In few places in TN and Puducherry etc, the temperature will increase by 2 to 4 degrees today and tomorrow.
