Traffic Diversion Announced at RBI Subway for Road Repairs Starting June 29
Chennai: Due to road repair works undertaken by Southern Railway, the RBI subway bridge will operate as a one-way route starting June 29, prompting changes in traffic movement.
Key Diversions:
- Vehicles from Royapuram Bridge and Rajaji Salai heading to Kamarajar Salai will not be allowed through the RBI subway.
- Instead, they must follow this alternate route:
- Northern access road of Reserve Bank subway → Fort Road → Raja Annamalai Mandram → Muthuswamy Salai → Dr. Muthuswamy Bridge → Walajah Signal → Kodimaram Road → War Memorial → Kamarajar Salai.
- No change in traffic for vehicles coming from Kamarajar Salai to Parry’s Corner via Rajaji Salai; this direction remains unaffected.

Authorities urge all motorists to cooperate and follow the temporary traffic diversions to ensure smooth flow during the maintenance period.
