Gone are the days when the parents in Tamil Nadu preferred private schools for their kids.
The quality of education provided by the government schools are on par with those of private schools. This has been revealed by the number of enrolments in this year in the government schools across TN.
The enrolment of the kids in the government schools in Tamil Nadu has crossed 3 lakhs this year. This was mentioned by the Directorate of Primary education.
In TN, there are now about 32000 government schools. From March onwards, every year, enrolment is being carried out in these schools. The sensational piece of information is that enrolment has crossed 3 lakhs now.
From March till June, 22757 children have enrolled in the LKG class in TN. As many as 172676 children have enrolled in class 1(Tamizh medium) and as many as 52057 children have enrolled in class 1 (English medium). It must be oted that as many as 65391 children have enrolled in classes 2 to 8. In total, 312881 children have enrolled in the government schools in TN.
In Chennai based government schools alone, as many as 17985 children have enrolled followed by Chengalpet with 9528. As many as 9285 children have enrolled in the government schools in Tiruppur. Point is that as many as 8573 children have enrolled in govt schools in Salem. In Tenkasi, 8019 children have enrolled in the government schools. This was followed by Tarapuram having 2082 children enrolled in the government schools. Lowest number of children enrolled in govt schools is at Oddanchatram with 2013.
