One of the premier educational institutes in India is Anna University or AU. It is known that there are 4 campus colleges belonging to AU such as College of Engineering, Guindy campus, Alagappa College of Technology, Guindy campus, Madras Institute of Technology, Chromepet campus and School of Architecture and Planning, Guindy campus etc.
The campus interviews for 2024-25 for job recruitment of the students have been going on since August last year in these above said AU campus colleges. It must be taken into account that about 246 companies like TCS, Wipro and Infosys etc have been participating to provide employment to the students who have successfully completed their UG, PG and MBA courses. Till the first week of July, the campus interviews would take place.
The sensational news is that from this year, for the first time ever, Koganei Seiki, a Japan based company, will be participating in the campus recruitment. This company is involved in the manufacture of car engines. Now, Chennai based Anna university has achieved a fantastic feat of receiving employment orders for its 72 students from 2 popular Japanese companies.
It is learnt that Japan based Koganei Seiki and Thirdwave Corporation took part in the campus recruitment in AU and conducted interviews for the students. The 72 students who have received the placement orders from these 2 companies would receive a starting salary of Rs 20lakhs per year. Information is that more than 450 students have applied for these 2 companies.
Method of selection:
It has been brought to light that the students have been selected after a rigorous process of application review, written tests and technical interviews etc.
On 29th May 2025, the factory head of Koganei Seiki took part in discussions with selected students online. The employment orders were issued to the successful students in the presence of director and deputy directors of University Industrial Cooperation Centre and teachers belonging to Anna University.
According to the data from AU it was clear that as many as 464 students who have completed their UG courses in the field of computer science engineering, IT , ECE etc have received placement orders in the Anna university campus interviews. As many as 357 students from MIT, Chromepet who have successfully completed their UG courses in the fields of mechanical engineering, EEE, civil engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, biomedical engineering etc received their placement orders.
About 104 UG students from Alagappa College of Technology who have completed chemical engineering, ceramic technology, food technology, leather technology, petroleum engineering and textile technology have receivived their placement orders. As many as 1249 PG students have also received placement orders. The numbers would increase further as the campus interviews would take place till July month.
