Superb!! Advanced diploma in Carnatic music course at the Music Academy in Chennai!!
Until 25th of June 2025, the applications for admissions to advanced diploma in carnatic music can be submitted. This was announced by the famous Music Academy in Chennai.
The press release from Music Academy mentioned that the Advanced School of Carnatic Music, Chennai Music Academy offers an advanced diploma course in Carnatic music. Point is that applications are invited for admission in this course for the academic year 2025-26. There are 2 semesters per year (July- November and January- April) in this advanced diploma course. The press release added that the classes would start from the month of July and there would be music classes every day from Monday to Friday from 8am to 12:30pm.
Eligibility criteria:
Those students who have completed plus 2 and have interest in music can join this course. The age should be between 18 and 30. The applicants must know how to sing varna and kitana. They must also have some knowledge of Manodharma Sangeet.
The applications can be downloaded by the interested candidates from the website of the music academy. It is mentioned that completed applications, information regarding previous music training and resume etc must be sent through email by 25th of June 2025.

Note:
One of the earliest established music academies in south India is Chennai music academy and it was formed in 1928. Initially, the music academy was located at George Town and later shifted to Mylapore. Since the year 1955, the music academy has been present in TTK Road in Chennai. Former PM of India, Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru laid the foundation stone for the building in the TTK Road is known to us.
