A serious mishap was narrowly avoided at Chennai International Airport early Monday when a Jazeera Airways flight bound for Kuwait was grounded due to a sudden technical failure. The flight, carrying 155 people (145 passengers and 10 crew members), was scheduled to depart at 1:50 am. However, during takeoff, the pilot detected a fault and immediately aborted the launch, safely returning the aircraft to the bay.
Engineers worked on the issue until around 4:30 am, but the problem could not be resolved, leading to the flight’s cancellation. The aircraft has been moved to a remote location for further inspection. Meanwhile, all passengers were shifted to hotels across Chennai, and a replacement flight is expected to depart later tonight. An investigation into the malfunction is underway.
