Heavy rains in Chennai Today & Tomorrow - 3 DAYS rains in Tamil Nadu due to the convergence of east and west winds!!
The state of TN would receive heavy rains for 3 days and this was confirmed by some meteorologists. The reason for 3 days of rain would be due to the convergence of east and west winds.
The air circulation or kaatru suzharchi over the Bay of Bengal is near TN and yesterday it rained in the Erode area in the afternoon. It must be noted that yesterday afternoon there was rain in places like Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Thirupathur, Kanchipuram adjacent to Ranipet and western areas of Tiruvallur etc.
It has been predicted that there would be heavy rains in Chennai and Tiruvallur regions today and tomorrow. There would be rains from Tirupati to Kanniyakumari today as the winds would enter Marudhamalai region through Erode, Nilgiris, Wayanad etc.
It is worth mentioning here that cooling winds, westerly winds and northerly winds entering Palakkad pass would lead to rains in Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Pollachi, Udumalpet, Dharapuram, Madankulam, Dindigul, Tiruppur, Nilgiris and Karur districts etc.
There would be rains over the AP border, over Bay of Bengal, Tenkasi district and Kanniyakumari, especially in the southern and Western Ghats districts etc. Today afternoon, the rains will start and will continue till tomorrow morning. The rains would be there till 20th of May.
The important piece of information is that about 150mm of rain is expected now. The rains would be present in the southern districts of TN plus on the Western Ghats on 21st May.
