A Campaign launched by NGO to protect Chennai Beaches

An online petition has been launched by an NGO for protecting the Chennai beaches which are becoming a dumping yard filled with garbage. The campaign, Clean up Chennai Beaches was mooted by Dr. Prahalathan of Bhumi, though the Chennai Corporation is concentrating more on Elliot and Marina beaches and neglecting the remaining beaches in Chennai, such as Neelangarai, Thiruvanmyur. The NGO has decided to mobilize at least 5000 signatures for writing an online petition to the Chennai Mayor, Saidai Duraisamy, Corporation Commissioner, Vikram Kapur and Deputy Mayor P Benjamin and Joint Commissioner, Dr. Pingale Vijay Maruti.
