Fiscal deficit is brought down to USD 70 billion finance minister

Looking at the financial condition of the country, many rating agencies and pundits stated to the finance minister P. Chidhambaram that it is impossible to contain the countrys financial deficit. As an answer to these, in the recent event at State bank of Mysore, the finance minister surprised with his statement by saying that the current deficit is USD 70 billion.
It is to be noted that the deficit was around USD 80 billion last year. He also promised that he will bring down this range below 70.
