Special fares from Chennai and Bangalore to Australian cities as part of a tourism promotion campaign along with Tourism Australia has been introduced by Malaysia Airlines. The fares starting from Rs 44,999 from Chennai and Bangalore, Rs 46,999 from Mumbai and Hyderabad and Rs 51,999 from Delhi will be on sale till the end of this month for the travel period valid till April 30, 2014.
The move comes after leisure travel to Australia has been on an upswing in recent months with a consistent increase in the number of Indian travelers. There were 10,900 visitors from India during July 2013, bringing the total for the first seven months of the year to 95,900. This is an increase of 6.3 per cent when compared to the number of passengers in the same period in the previous year.
