World Class Velodrome to be set up in Vandalur, Chennai

It may be disappointing news for the cycle racers for the shift of Velodrome which was planned to be built in Shenoy Nagar, is now deciding to be built in Vandalore, which is about 30 km away. This was decided by the Tami l Nady Physical Education and Sports University. The Vandalur plot was inspected by the Sports Development Authority and many valuable reasons have been said explained by the Chennai Corporation Commissioner, Vikram Kapur. He states that the corporation intends on using Shenoy Nagar land for the other economically gainful purpose, as it may not be feasible to let core area in Chennai where the land rates are inflated.
