Over 10,000 interior roads will be re-laid shortly with in Chennai Corporation limits

With the estimated budget of 1,200 crore, about 10,000 interior roads will be laid by the end of May, 2014. This will benefit the residents hugely and experience better transportation. This has been announced by Mayor, Saidai S Duraisamy that about 18, 264 interior roads will also be re-laid at 2, 350 crore estimation.
About 8, 146 roads will be re-laid in 1, 2, and 3 missions and remaining 10, 118 roads will come under the special project. Including the extended area of the city, in 30, 560 interior road, about 18, 264 roads are found to be worst condition.
