Underground Metro Rail is Expected to be shortly on Track in Chennai

It is in the nearing future that the underground metro rails are going to take its place and share with the floating population, creating heavy traffic on the busiest roads in Chennai,
Anna Salai and EVR Periyar Salai. About 21% of the CMRL works are over, with the 11 imported tunnel Boring machines are engaged busy with the construction works for concourse slab, roof slab, and base slab in the stages to bring the shape for the station underground. The rail tracks extend for about 24 KMs underground of the overall 45KM long network planned by the CMRL.
