Low cost carrier flights often called no frills, discount and budget flight is a cheap flight with less comfort. On the other hand full service airlines are which comes with extra comforts and of course with additional charges.
But today, so called low cost carrier in India is no longer cheap as their charges are more than the full service airlines. LCCs are charging 10 to 50 percent extra than the full service airlines. IndiGo, GoAir, SpiceJet and JetKonnect come under low cost carrier categories while Jet Airways and Air India are full service airlines.
In August the aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation conducted a study and asked the airlines to notify their minimum and maximum fares. These imply that this is a very lean period for the aviation industry.
