Chennai airport gets a new facility for the first time!!
Indigo airline passengers are feeling happy now with the availability of a new self baggage drop facility at the Chennai airport. It is learnt that 8 self baggage drop kiosks have been set up in one of the domestic terminals T1. Information gathered is that IndiGo that handles nearly 60% of air passengers at the Chennai airport has taken 4 of those self baggage drop kiosks. The kiosks are available at the counters 60 to 63.
According to an airport officer, trial runs that were carried out in this regard were superb. He hinted that the rest of the kiosks could be used by other airlines like Akasha , Spicejet etc.
In the past week, many of the frequent flyers and first time flyers have been using this superb facility at the airport. It was then brought out by another official at the airport that passengers who don`t want to stand in the queue with their baggage preferred this facility. He added that everyday about 100 to125 persons have been using the facility. It must be noted that passengers who do not exceed permissible Passengers get guidance from the staff near these counters. In another 2 months, 8 more kiosks would be set up in another domestic terminal T4.
