Voting from home itself during the TN elections - Compulsory submission of Form 12D before 25th of March!!

The date 19th of April 2024 on which TN elections would be held is not far away.

In this scenario, it is now brought out that those who are differently able (40% or more) and those senior citizens above the age of 85 and who cannot go to the polling booths could cast their votes from their respective houses itself. These persons must fill up and submit Form 12D compulsorily before 25th of March.

Information gathered is that booth level officials have been going to the houses of these persons and have been getting the forms filled with details from their voter ID card. Respective district help lines could be approached by the persons who do not get the forms within 2 days.

It has been found that in Chennai district alone there are 11600 persons who are differently able and 65800 people who are 85 and above. It must be noted that the voters can call help lines 1913 or 1950 for any assistance.

Point is that in the Kancheepuram district there are 13677 differently able persons and 14270 persons who are 85 years and older. The voters can call the helpline 1800-425-7087.

It is learnt that in the Chengalpet district there are 25222 persons who are of the age group 85 and above and 13368 are differently able persons. The voters can call the helpline 1800-425-7088, 044-27427412 / 044-27427414.

Point to be noted is that in the Thiruvallur district there are 24565 voters who are 85 years and above and as many as 19478 are differently able persons. The voters can call the helpline 1800-425-8515 or 044-27660641 / 27660642.
