Summer Vacation Special Trains: Preparation of timetable in progress - Railway Officials
Officials of the Southern Railways have informed that the special timetable for summer vacation trains to important destinations is progressing smoothly.
It is customary for families to enjoy trips during the summer vacation period. Therefore, the Railway Administration has undertaken the task of arranging special trains and additional coaches to accommodate the traveling families.
Southern Railway officials stated:
"During the summer vacations, many citizens embark on special trips with their families to their native places or summer resorts. Accordingly, we are organizing special trains from Tambaram to Thirunelveli and Sengottai, from Chennai Egmore Station to Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, and Velankanni, and from Chennai Central Station to Coimbatore, Thiruvananthapuram, and other destinations. The preparation of the timetable for these special summer vacation trains is currently in progress.
Additional Coaches:
To alleviate the number of passengers on waiting lists, additional coaches will be added to existing trains. Presently, 30 special trains with 150 services are being organized."
