Chennai Taramani based Apollo Proton Cancer Hospital is now making news!!
This hospital has launched a programme called unmask cancer to change misconceptions regarding cancer. It is a well known fact that cancer is one of the major causes for deaths across the world now.
There are many myths and misconceptions about cancer in people`s minds and it is necessary to remove these myths and misconceptions about cancer. This was mentioned by Dr. Sapna Nagia, director of the breast, head and neck department. By this programme, understanding about the cancer patients in the society would improve and prevent these patients from getting affected psychologically.
In this programme, the cancer affected persons would share their lifestyle, support from their families, friends etc. In addition, the programme unmask cancer would go a long way in addressing the stigma associated etc plus remove the barriers related to profession and personal lives of cancer survivors. The mental and emotional well being of the cancer patients would be given importance in this programme.
