Government Extends Aadhaar Update Deadline to March 14, 2024

In a recent memorandum issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the government has decided to extend the deadline for updating Aadhaar details until March 14, 2024. This three-month extension comes in response to the positive feedback received from residents who utilized the Aadhaar portal for document updates during the initial period.
The UIDAI notification states, "Based on the positive response from the residents, it is decided to extend the facility for 3 more months, i.e., from December 15, 2023, to March 14, 2024." This extension provides an additional window for individuals to ensure the accuracy and currency of their Aadhaar information.
Residents can continue to avail themselves of the free facility for document updates through the myAadhaar portal at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ until March 14, 2024.
Aligned with the government`s commitment to streamlining administrative processes, this initiative empowers citizens to efficiently manage their Aadhaar information. The initial deadline for the free UID update was December 14, 2023.
Here`s a step-by-step guide on updating Aadhaar details:
1. Visit the official UIDAI website https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
2. Enter your Aadhaar number and captcha.
3. Click on `Send OTP` and enter the OTP received on your linked number.
4. Select `Update Demographics Data`.
5. Choose the relevant options on the next page and click on `Proceed`.
6. Make the necessary changes on the subsequent page.
7. Upload the required documents.
8. Verify the entered details.
9. Submit the change request and use the Update Request Number (URN) to track the status of the address change.
