Closing down of Iconic Park Sheraton or Adyar Park hotel in Chennai!!

For the last 38 years, a hotel in the popular Chamiers Road in Alwarpet has been hosting many high profile events etc. This is the Park Sheraton or Adyar Park hotel that the Chennai residents would have been familiar with.
Now, this hotel will be shutting down from 20th December 2023. This was announced by the management of the hotel.
It is now said that this 287 room hotel would make way for the twin towers of uber luxury apartments from Baashyaam group. Not many of us would have known that it was Mr. TT. Vasu, an Industrialist who promoted the hotel as Adyar Gate hotel.
After the hotel came under the management of ITC, it became popular as Park Sheraton hotel and Towers. It was given the name Crown Plaza Chennai Adyar Park. Many press meetings, weddings, guests etc have taken place at this superb hotel is well known.
It is noteworthy that about 2 years back Ceebros, another leading developer was supposed to acquire and construct that into a luxury residential property.
The hotel management has informed the guests that the membership would come to a close on1 6th December and asked them to utilize all the pending vouchers by that date.
Many residents took to twitter and shared their memories about this sensational hotel especially eating out at Dakshin. It is known that Dakshin specialises in the cuisine belonging to AP, TN, Karnataka and Kerala, Telangana and Puducherry etc.
