Rope car facility at famous Thiruneermalai temple near Pallavaram - Whats happening now?

The 2000year old popular Sri Ranganatha Perumal Temple at Thiruneermalai in Chennai is making sensational news now!!
Near Pallavaram in Chennai, there is one highly famous Sri Ranganathar Perumal temple. In this temple, Lord Vishu would be seen in 4 different poses like standing pose (Neervanna perumal), sleeping pose(Ranganathar), standing pose(Santha Narasimhar) and walking pose(Ulagalantha perumal) etc is known to us.
It must be noted that here Neervanna perumal would be present down the hill and others like Ranganathar, Santha Nasrasimhar and Ulagalantha perumal would be present at the hilltop. The hill of this temple is 48 acres. There are about 288 steps available here for the devotees to go from down to the top. Truth is that many devotees come to this temple to have darshan but senior citizens, differently able persons etc have been finding it tough to climb these steps.
It is known that for a long time suggestions about the need for a rope car facility here to help the devotees have been made. Few months back, HR and CE minister Mr. P. Sekar Babu undertook a study for a rope car facility at this temple. A project evaluation regarding rope car facility an amount of Rs 8.63 cr was made. The authorities of the temple decided to get Rs 5 cr as donations from the devotees as Rs 3 cr was already available as temple funds.
As the temple authorities were unable to collect Rs 5 cr from the devotees, a file was sent to the TN govt for sanctioning Rs 8.7 cr. The rope car facility here has not become reality even now. Many social activists now want the TN govt to come forward to solve this issue.
